1st SAHASRA CHANDI EVENT IN CANADA

The 1st Sahasra Chandi Maha Yagna in Canada was organized by Shri Murugan Temple in Montreal and was headed by our dear Shri Chandru Gurukkal, who was the Pradhana Acharya! The event was also graced by the world-renowned Pillayar Patti priest Shri Picchai Gurukkal. Our team was invited to attend and chant at the event and it was the unique blessings of Shri Chandru Gurukkal and Shri Durga Devi that we were blessed to attend at this great Yagna and chant Shri Devi Mahatmyam !

2nd SAHASRA CHANDI EVENT - TORONTO - JULY 16-26, 2015In the same year 2015 ( July 16-26, 2015 ) , a Sahasra Chandi was completed successfully to celebrate the 113th Jayanti (birth anniversary) of celebrated Sri Vidya Guru, Swargiya Poojya Shri Vimarshananda Nathendar Swamigal.

More than 100 of my students helped completed more than 1000 recitations of Devi Mahatmyam required for the event, which is a greatly satisfying and personal achievement in my life. Never before, I truly believe, that a Sahasra Chandi has been conducted solely with the chanting of students who were Grihastas and not professional priests. The chantings were of the highest order and held at the homes of students who rose to the occasion brilliantly and whose time, efforts and monetary support helped this grand event happen. The students included those from 2008 onwards. In 2015, the students underwent intensive 2 sessions of 3 hours per week of training for over 6 months and the quality of chanting produced was acknowledged by many senior knowledgeable priests.

The blessings of Swargiya Swamigal and Shri Durga Devi will continue to be with us and guide us on our spiritual goals to enable us to spread and make accessible Shri Devi Mahatmyam and Sri Vidya Tantra to those who are interested in learning the same.
