GRD Iyers GuruCool will be celebrating their 4th Annual edition of World Shakti Day 2021 with a Maha Rudram & Shata Chandi from 17-19th September.
The event is kindly hosted by the Hindu Temple of Dayton, Ohio, USA. All devotees are most welcome to participate and get the divine blessings of Shiva-Shakti! Maharudram: 1,331 recitations of Shree Rudram & 134 Rudra Homams Shata Chandi: 100 recitations of Shree Durga Saptashati &10 Chandi Homams |
Ganapati Atharva Seersha Upanishad states “Yo modaka sahasrena yajati. Sa vaanchita phala mavapnoti” i.e when homam for Shree Maha Ganapati is done with 1000 modakas, then He grants the wishes of the devotees. A laksha (100k) modaka homam signifies 100 such homams and hence the power of the homam is raised to 100 times!
The modaka being offered in the homam is a deep fried sweet dumpling (instead of the steamed variety used as Neivedhyam). We will also be performing Ganapati Chaturavritti Tarpanam & Ganapati Sahasranama Archana! Sahasranama archana can be performed by all at a physical location as well as online |
