My Paintings
I used to do sketching as a child and then did some cartoons and caricatures in my twenties. However, I had never tried my hand at painting as it was a costly hobby and I wouldn't have been able to afford it in my childhood or youth. Recently however, Gayathri egged me on to try my hand at oil painting. I was hesitant and nervous and looked up some You Tube videos (where else !) and said to myself "Looks simple!". We went down to Currys and bought some painting material and canvas and I was on my way. I did a few paintings and you can see them in the slideshow above. I have given all of them away for Charity & Fund raising events at local temples and events here. I am happy to say that all of them were picked up someone or other. I hope you like them too.
I was commissioned to do a reproduction of Claude Monet's "Garden of Argentuil" which I did in a 4x5 sq.ft canvas - my most ambitious project till date.
Most of the paintings were turned out furiously but I have learnt to be patient and hopefully that shows in the later works!
