As much difficult as it is, please stay calm in this COVID situation. Take precautions but do not talk negatively. Mob psychology is dangerous and contagious. COVID curve will go down soon as medical research is going on fervently everywhere and we should have a solution soon. Aids, SARS etc were contained and this will be too. Avoid unnecessary talk and rumours. Stay strong and have faith.
For those who want to recite, Devi Mahatmyam Mantras and Rudram are potent.
Mantras from Devi Mahatmyam
1) 11th chapter:
rogāna śeśhā napahaṃsi tuśhṭā
ruśhṭā tu kāmā sakalānabhīśhṭān
tvāmāśritānāṃ na vipannarāṇāṃ|
tvāmāśritā hyaśrayatāṃ prayānti||29||
sarvabādhā praśamanaṃ trailokyasyākhileśvari|
evameva tvayākārya masmadvairi vināśanam||39||
2) 12th chapter:
Upa sargāna śeśhānstu mahāmārī samudbhavān|
tathā trividha mutpātaṃ māhātmyaṃ śamayenmama ||8||
3) Argala Stotram:
dehi saubhāgya mārogyaṃ dehi me paraṃam sukhaṃ|
rūpaṃ dhehi jayaṃ dehi yaśo dhehi dviśho jahi||13||
Shiva Mantras:
1) Mrityunjaya mantra
2) Full Rudram chanting
3) Dhanvantri mantra
These are called prayogas or utilizing mantras for kamyartham or self interest. In such situations, the devotee must be knowledgeable and well experienced to employ these techniques. Any selfish use of mantras is generally not recommended. Best way is to do it nishkamyam or atmartham ie only out of devotion and that carries little risk. In other words, we pray for the universe and then we are included in that automatically
Suggesting techniques like samputikaranam, pallavi, garbhitam etc with one mantra woven into entire text is possible but under someone experienced and not on your own. As such, I am not explaining these techniques as risk of error is very high since most people don’t know basic Devi Mahatmyam or Rudram properly.
Best way is to avoid complicated techniques. Make a simple prayer to Ganapati and a direct open prayer in your own words (no big Sanskrit sankalpam as if God knows only Sanskrit) to God (your favourite deity) to get rid of COVID and restore normalcy and pray for EVERYONE’S health and well being and then recite any of above Devi Mahatmyam mantras in multiples of 8 upto your limit.
I am not complicating the process technically with Navakshari etc.
Rudram too is very good.
For all of above, keep a glass of warm water in front of you before chanting and then drink it as medicine after the chant. You can keep touching the glass if u want.
Do not forget to ask forgiveness for any mistake in chanting and then thank the deity by doing a namaskaram.
It is not advisable to discuss “this mantra vs that mantra”. Mantras work if you have belief in them. Choose your favourite mantra and that deity will protect you.
Maintain common sense precaution and avoid unnecessary talk, meeting, touching etc.
Good time for Sadhana and practicing if you ask me.
